1. Consultation - Your health history is thoroughly reviewed. Factors in your history are identified that may have had an affect on your body. Specific details of your present complaints or concerns are related to the doctor
2. Examination - Each patient receives three types of examinations. This is done to determine the specific areas that may not be functioning at 100%.
   1. Chiropractic Exam - The doctor evaluates each of your 24 vertebrae. If a vertebra is out of alignment it may put pressure on the spinal cord and spinal nerves. This pressure can cause the body and it's organs to function improperly. Many patients have discomfort but some patients don't have any symptoms at all.
   2. Neurological Exam - Your neurological functions are individually tested. The nervous system is comprised of the brain, spinal cord, and the spinal nerves. The brain communicates with every organ, muscle, and tissue in the body.
   3. Tests are conducted to identify specific problem areas.
      Dr. Battaglia performs many orthopedic tests to detect any spinal abnormality or disturbance.
3. Why Chiropractic X-rays? “To see is to know, not to see is to guess. We don’t guess about your health!”
   1. X-rays – X-rays allow the doctor to see the exact alignment and overall integrity of the spine. Care is taken to obtain perfect positioning. The highest quality of equipment is used at Lakeside Chiropractic of Lake Norman. The x-ray film used is one of the fastest speeds to allow the doctor to use the least exposure time necessary.
   2. Individual Attention is Given – Since all patients are unique, the doctor studies each individual’s consultation, examination, and x-ray findings thoroughly. Time is spent studying your case to determine what your special needs are.
   3. Precise Analysis - The most modern instruments are used to analyze a patient's condition. In addition to seeing misalignments on the x-rays, the doctor can check for other bone and joint abnormalities such as arthritis.
4. Explanation of Findings
   1. Explanation – The doctor gives each patient a detailed explanation of the examination and x-ray findings. At this time, the patient’s questions and concerns are answered. Adequate time is given to ensure that all patients understand their condition.
   2. One on One Attention - Patients are encouraged to ask questions about their condition. After explaining all of the findings, Dr. Battaglia recommends a plan of care to restore the spine to the best of its ability.
   3. Plan of Care - If your case can be helped by chiropractic care, Dr. Battaglia will explain the best way to go about correcting the condition. Along with chiropractic adjustments, basic stretching and strengthening exercises may be given.
5. Chiropractic Care Without Twisting the Spine
   1. New method of Correction - Dr. Battaglia uses several chiropractic techniques in her non-twisting system of correcting the spine. Additional training was required beyond her chiropractic education to learn these advanced techniques.
   2. Non-Twisting Method - Pictured here is Dr. Battaglia adjusting one of her young patients. Since the doctor specializes in gentle, low-force methods of chiropractic care, she is able to provide safe, effective care for newborns.
